Rear decklid sitting low

Hi guys. It's my first post on this informative forum. I just got an 87 GTA a month ago and have decided to give it a good rehaul before starting using it. There is no rust whatsoever which is a good thing but body panels need work on alignment. Fenders to Doors to Hood to Pop up lights to Nose.... Going to have a body shop work on those by the end of this month. My issue is that I am noticing that the deck lid also has an alignment problem. Not the usual sticking out problem which can be fixed by moving the deck lid inwards. My decklid sits like a 1cm lower than the rear fender only on the front part (glass side) at both sides. The rear part is flush. It looks to me like there should be something between the metal decklid and the glass to allow the metal part to raise up. Do I have this part missing? Can someone take a picture of the gap between the glass and the decklid?

Am I the only person with this problem?
