silly question...
so, I've never had a car painted... that being said, I have a practically pristine interior that I'm itching to put in my 87 gta.. (now to put the 2 random facts together) would it be a bad idea to put the new interior in before I get it painted?

Re: silly question...
I agree. 9/10 times when you REALLY want to do something on your car, there are a dozen things you should do first that are not fun. (if you want to do it right the first time)
In this case it sounds like one of your tasks to do before the fun part is waiting.
Take it from a person who has built up his car from scratch 3 times, only to do it a fourth because I rushed too many things and ended up with problems.

Re: silly question...
yeah... I kinda figured that would be the case. I also have a new aerowing to put on it, but gotta wait on that too since I'm doing a vinyl wrap on it... so I've got the pile of pretty new parts and I get to sand bondo

Unless its a dealership or a well known hot rod kinda shop, I wouldn't trust them NOT to screw up your interior. I have a friend right now that got hit in the rear quarter panel and the shop ripped or marked up their leather in multiple places. Only saving grace is that my friend took very good pictures of the car before it went to the body shop.
