Fitting Third Brake Light under spoiler.
I am trying to fit a third brake light under deck lid spoiler. Could someone tell me are the two bolts on the bottom of the brakelight assembly (image below) supposed to come up through the deck lid. In other words do I need to drill 2 holes in the deck lid for the bolts.
I mounted the brake light to the spoiler and tried to see how it would fit. I left out the 2 bolts on the bottom of the brakelight for the moment. There is a gap as can be seen. I presume the brake light is to be flush with the spoiler. I think it is such a tight fit that is causing it to gap. I don't know what I am doing wrong.
Any help appreicated,
Thanks.

Re: Fitting Third Brake Light under spoiler.
Does your 82 still have its standard spoiler? Because it looks like the brake light you have was designed to fit the curvature of the underside of the 85-90 Aero Wing spoiler, not the standard spoiler that's on your 82, hence the gap. Your spoiler continued to be used throughout the generation, so there should be a properly-fitting, 86-90 brake light out there somewhere.

Re: Fitting Third Brake Light under spoiler.
Thanks for your reply. The spoiler is the standard 82 spoiler. I have checked images of the brake light for the 87-90 models and it looks exactly like what I have. The problem seems to be it is such a tight fit when I put on spoiler that it starts to spread at the back. Are the bolts on underside of the brake light to go through the deck lid.
Thanks.
Thanks.
