Couple of rear hatchg questions...

1: How the heck do you remove the cable release from the rear lock
cylinder? I bought a set and need to replace it but am afraid I'm going to
break it. The service manual doesn't help at all.

2: For some reason my pull down motor is stuck in the down position. When
I hit the release button it won't slide back up. Never had this problem
before. Is there a way to make it go back to the up position?

Thanks

In this video at 4:15 he said he used a screwdriver and pried the plastic part off. I'd use some caution when doing this so that it doesn't break.

That plastic piece has two metal pins that do not look removable and I'm afraid to break it by prying..?
