GTA steering wheel removal

Okay i'm gonna have my steering pulled so i can have it re-stitched (and so i can get that wire). I know pulling the steering wheel is pretty straight-forward but i have question for you GTA owners: how do you remove the leather piece in the center of the wheel that has the steering wheel radio controls. I think it pulls out but i want to be sure there isn't some other small detail before i break it. Any info would be appreciated.........

I have yet to see a GM steering wheel where the center blockoff or horn button didn't either snap in, or have screws fromt he back side holding it in. Check for screws, if there aren't any carefully try pulling it off.

For lack of a better phrase-it is velcroed on. Grab it and pull. There is a wire underneath that connects to the horn ground and a couple of wires in a connector that connect through the lock plate.

Just grab and pull and the controls will come off but don't yank so hard that the wires underneath get yanked out.
