Rocker emblem

I have an 88 Iroc that is missing the emblem and insert on the passenger side rocker. I bought new emblems but can not find the plastic insert that the emblem goes on. Does anyone have information on where I can buy one? Thanks

Re: Rocker emblem

When I bought emblems a year ago, they were already attached to the plastic inserts. I'm guessing you got the cheaper ones with the incorrect font -- the ones with the correct font and the plastic inserts are about twice the price. Only way to get new inserts is going to be with the more expensive new emblems.

Compare the size of the hole in the "R" of the emblems in the blue box to the cheaper ones with the white background. The blue box emblem font is MUCH closer to the factory font, and also has the correct fade that is missing on the cheaper emblems. If you're really on a budget, you might try and find someone on here that's parting out a car in the classifieds forums, and see if you can get some ratty ones cheap to re-do with your new stick-ons.

I bought ones identical to those in the blue box from Phoenix Graphics. They are the bubble type decals. They do not have the plastic insert.

That's strange, at least to me, as I bought the blue box emblems for my RS as well, and they definitely had the plastic inserts. But I just went to Phoenix Graphics's site and looked at their emblems, and they definitely say that the black plastic pieces are not included. You'd think they'd all come from the same supplier since even the boxes are the same, but I guess not. I looked on eBay for anything used that might work, but no luck. Best advice I can give is just keep checking the parts forums here, or maybe contact Third Gen Ranch or Hawk's to see if they have a used one they can sell you, as they part out a lot of cars. I see that you also posted in the parts wanted forum, so hopefully someone can come up with something for you. Good luck!
