how to fix noisy doorhandles????

My doorhandles rattle every like crazy whenever i drive down the road, even when on smooth pavement, and it's driving me insane. Is there some kind of home remedy i can use to shut these things up, or am i gonna have to buy ones?

Before you go buying new ones, see if the nuts are loose that hold them to the door. To access the nuts, you have to remove the interior door panel (look in tech articles for procedure) with the window down. Once you have the panel off, you have to put the window all the up. Are you SURE it is your door handle? My passenger mirror used to rattle terribly, which kind of sounded like what I imagine a door handle rattle to sound like.

I have sort of the same problem, but make sure it IS your doorhandle. Does it seem to be loose when the door is shut and your outside opening the door?

If this is the case, the it is probably loose. I didn't know there are bolts holding this thing on, and since that's all there is, I'll be fixing that tomorrow.

It's most like the tension spring under the door handle that holds the handle steady. They're almost all broken on our cars by now. Need new handles, 'cause I don't think they sell the spring seperately. Or you could graft your own better handles on, like wossname did.

I got that same problem... but my spring is fine, it is the part of the handle it attaches too that broke So I am also in the market for a new handle, if you find a cheap place to get 'em, shoot me an email. Good luck.

That'd be me Jza

They sell new ones in the HELP section of most major part stores.

If you can't find them in black, you can scuff the finish & use Duplicolor Trim Black to get the OEM black matte finish.
