88 Firebird trunk pull down motor release switch

Hi guys,
I just bought a Trans Am GTA and I found that I have missing the hatch release switch from the pull down motor assembly, I have been looking for it online but not luck just yet, does anybody happen to have one for sale?

Thanks,

Not an expert of 'birds and which style you need, but I see several on Ebay searching "firebird hatch release switch".

12 years ago parts weren't always easy to find, some items took me a year or two to find. Today 3rd gen parts are harder to find, and cost much more. Have patience and save your pennies. Best tip I have is do "saved searches" on ebay and you'll get an email every time someone puts up a new listing. The thrill is in the hunt, not the kill.

Thanks vf750rider,

I did found one on ebay in an auction and I won the complete assembly, I guess I will have an extra ssembly since the only thing I really need is the switch.

Glad you did. I happened to get a last minute Amazon alert to a lightning deal on rear hatch motors, and I snagged one for myself while was available! Just the motor, no switches, relays or leads.

It's a complicated little beast to say the least. Switches to reverse the motor, adjustable position of entire assembly so pulls enough but not too much, switch to auto close when you close lid, and the crazy little relay - it's got to be in the top 5 patience-testing components of the 3rd gen! But, we love 'em ❤
