Does anyone know where I can find a replacement backing plate for an '85 Trans Am passenger-side power mirror? Similar to the attached image, but no mirror heating wires.
I've been looking & it's looking like I may have to buy an entire mirror housing assembly to just get that part. I've tried searching for the part #, but have only found one example for sale at like $80 which isn't much less than an entire mirror assembly.
If you have a lead on where to look, would greatly appreciate it.
Probably, ebay, junkyard, FB, here, are your best bet. Also vettes, fieros and some sportier 80's era G-bodies also used these mirrors. So try those when searching. With the defroster version, you could also cut the wires off.

That one in the image is unfortunately close to $80, but it's on my list if I can't find something a little more reasonable.
