Rear hatch change, need advice on HMSL
Hey all, I was looking at a hatch from an RS to put on my iroc. I have an 86 with the HMSL on the outside of the glass and the RS has the one on the inside of the glass. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on the wiring to make it work, and if I can take the body pieces off of my hatch and transfer them to the other RS glass
Help and advice is much appreciated

You CAN take the decklid off of one and put on another, but it's quite a process. Many of us have done it, but it involves special adhesives and primer for adhering to the glass etc, etc. Regarding the brake light itself, I just picked up an 86, and have never liked the outside the glass placement. I was going to tackle something custom at some point, but it's still a way off. Curious to see what you come up with.

I have a 92 with the internal light and just before you get one you should know it's one bad consequence; you can't see stuff right behind you in the rear view mirror because the housing blocks a lot of the area in the rear view. So far, every time I've mentioned this, there is a near universal disagreement with me on this. I had someone say to just use the side mirrors to see directly behind you which, given their diminutive size, is just silly as now you've lost the whole point of seeing in the side blind spots. I got a brake light spoiler and wired that in and can now see very well both to the rear and sides. It is a PITA to wire it in though. This was a big deal to me but seems to not be for others. Good luck with your project.
