91-92 gfx on earlyer birds?
91-92 gfx on earlyer birds?
can it be done and is it a direct bolt on or is ther some other work that needs to be done? as far as I know all I would need would be bumpercover, rocker gfx and rear valance. Am I correct in this or what else would I need? thanks
It is a direct swap, but requires drilling. The rocker GFX mounting brackets *may* be different on other years--I don't think anyone's figured it o9ut yet. You need the complete front end--including headlight assemblies, and crash bar assemblies b/c they are 91-92 specific. FYI: The GFX set consists of 8 pieces (not including the front and rear fascias). Two mount under front fascia and extend to front of front wheelwell, two rocker FX, two door FX, and two rear 1/4 FX.
I am doing the swap right now, and I can't remember if things like wiring connectors are different, but I can check...
All told, it would be easiest/cheapest to find a complete, wrecked car, as our sponsors don't like to sell these parts cheap...

I've got the 91-92 Camaro side pieces.
I have the rocker panel and door piece on my 86 Trans Am.

You have to fill in 6 holes on each side of the car if you have the tall ground effects like I had on my 86.
We did the three on the doors already. Going to do the other three on each side tonight,
