5 speed console plate......
Hey guys,
Someone broke into my car and stole my cd player! And they broke the five speed shifter plate. I found some of these plates in the junkyards but they are all white letters on the shift indicator and the leather thing is all busted on them. So the question I had is if my 5 spd indicator thing and the leather boot thing could switch over somehow to the junk yard 5 spd plate? Please, any help will be greatly appreciated.

I guess I'm not understanding your question. You can swap the leather (or simulated leather on the new ones) from one to another. There are 4 screws holding on a retaining plate on the bottom of the shifter plate. I swapped an older leather onto a new shift plate because I didn't wan't simulated leather. But for some reason I had to slot the holes in themetal retaining plate. There must have been a minor revision to the injection molded piece. Can you change the yellow shift indicator only over to an older white one? I imagint with a LOT of work. You could cut & trim the yellow shift portion and cut the same size hole into the older plate with drilling & filing or my favorite method a hot utility knife. But as I said it would be a lot of work. Does this answer the question? Lon
