door panels

hey guys the only thing in my interior that still looks bad are the door panels. has any1 recovered them and had them look good. or is there a place to buy new ones. also were coudl i get the cardboard they are made out of. thanks and post pics if u got them

I think thirdgenresource.com sells new door panels, I also remember reading a post where someone had redone their panels and came out pretty good.

You have lots of options. You can use masonite or cardboard for the backing. You can use 3M adhesive, sheet foam, and an exacto knife to create custom patterns under your fabric. You can use this technic to layer different fabrics in a pattern as well. Go to JoAnn's fabric or the like and look around. Craft stores are also good. Of course you can always replicate the factory pattern with original fabric from an automotive upholstery shop (they can order almost all original fabrics).
