New White Face Templates...

Does anyone have any new white face templates that stand right out? Unforgivens are sweet but I was just wondering if anyone went all out in creatively designing their own?

I just want something that stands out really nice, having to do with IROC Z and blue white and silver... Most of the ones ive seen look kinda plain... Maybe use different font than normal? Most of em are red, would like something with alittle more blue in it.... Thanks man...

Ummm... I don't mean any offense-- The resizing thing isn't an issue... It's that the templates are actually wrong...

The speedometer trip reset thing is in the wrong place; the tachometer's screws are in the wrong place, and the tachometer's numbers start in the wrong place. As far as the other 2 gages, they're completely wrong-- They changed what went where some where in there, cause my gas/oil/temp and bat are in different places than the templates.

I'm sure that the templates are right for the right year(s), but for my 85 they're completely wrong. (again, no offense. i appreciate what he's doin by posting them, they're just not right for my car). Does anyone have any templates that will work on an 85 t/a?????

Thanks

I'm no expert on this but from what I gather the speedo differs by the stock top speed reading (85, 130, 140) and the tach's differ upon the position of the screws. maybe try a search for white faced guages?

no need to get grumpy people. No the White face gauges unforgiven has are wrong. they dont fit my 85 either. The oil press. and fuel gauges are in the opposite spots check it out. But you dont need to get mad over it. I would like to find the right white faces for mine also.

I talked to unforgiven he said that his firebird gages were made from an 82... I'll make some for 85 and post 'em when i'm done.

No you uneducated dummies, they are not wrong, they are okfoz's templates. The only thing wrong is you, just like Camaro Guages changed in 1990, firebird gauges differ for a few years. So since none of you have sent me any different ones, just bitched about it and bitched about me not having them for you, I guess you'll never have them for your make and model until someone decides to send me some more templates to add to my archive.

WHEW!, I was getting worried there for a min, I thought you were referring to my templates. I know mine will fit firebirds from 86-92, not sure about 85 tho...

Well see, the gauges I have on the archive are yours and I don't know jack about firebirds, so not our problem that the years are different, I'll have to make another disclaimer for the geniuses' and label the years in the archive.

Cuase *** damn, I'm a stupid lazy bastard for not making them the correct gauges the first time around....

The speedo's are mine, ok I will admit it, but like said before, there from two 87s, a 90 and a 92... So they might not be for cars as early as 85.

They WILL NOT work with the early 82-84 speedos for sure, and I doubt they would work with the mechanical speedos in the later years that had all the idiot lights...

in short, I guess if your car has the cable driven speedometer, then they will not work, 90% positive on that...

Like I’ve said many times before now, I appreciate what you’re doing posting your gages, and I don’t think it’s right all the crap you’ve been catching cause people don’t know how to resize images…. I don’t doubt that they’re correct for the proper years...

So just calmmmmmmmm down and take these posts for what they have been... disgusion about why the templates won't work on some cars, no one here is trying to give you a hard time because you're an idiot or anything (i don't think you are)

I'm going to make my own gages for my 85

TransAM, I assume you were talking to Un4Given and not me.

Where in Lakeland are you going to school. I almost went to Southeastern College down there about 6 years ago...

Unforgiven, if you go back to my site, you can see I have the percentages that you need to resize them to through the Windows paint program.

you might want to add the info to your site...

that's a bunch of crap. I figured out how to do the gages just fine. Okfoz are you gettin similar emails about how you don't know how to work a computer?? The only difference I see in your two sites (okfoz and un4given) is that it was clear on Okfoz's how to resize--- I didn't look that hard, but it wasn't so obvious on yours un4given how to resize... Maybe change that and c what happens?? Dunnno.

Some not-pissed off advice for you Hope people calm down and learn what THEY are doign wrong.

Yeah I noticed that, here is something else that has solved alot of problems that people don't know either from a user who figured it out

"but my printer software was set to print everything at the "Fit to window" setting. I turned that off and everything printed okay"

So next time some of you might wanna check out this setting, I discovered it on mine too, but it was turned off already.

Oooo yea print to fit will do it too. I think the easiest directions are currently how Okfoz's site has the percentages--- Also, pixel sizes may help as well... I don't understand why people possibly think that it could be your "fault" for posting FREE gages that "are wrong".. they're free!!! You can't possibly argue with the vender if he's giving it away. Now, if you were charging for the gages, then maybe they would have a ligit complaint...

I think I have gotten a whole one e-mail asking me about how to resize... that i can remember. I think there response was something like "I have a paint program that came with windows???"

OK it might not have been that bad.

Gage templates: Free

Paper For gage templates: 1 cent per page

Time taken to figure out exactly what size to make them the perfect size without instructions: about an hour if you have never done it before.

I think I spent a whole 15 or so min to gather the info for my site...

If you want a formula do this: for example if your original gage is Exactly 5 inches wide, print out the file as is. measure width, if 9 inches resize to 55.55%

The Formula: Divide the (printed gage size) by the (Width of original gage) to get a decimal.

5 divided by 9 = .5555555555555

this will get you pretty close...

There not all that bad, and I don't mind the ok ones, but the ones where people are getting hissy fits, my white faces guages gets the most hits on my website, under that is the photography section of my site comes in second (naked girls) so..... this month I've had 84623 page views, 66454 unqiue user ips to that part of my website, over 2gigs of transfer this month somewhere around 100,000 hits to the site in general.

Not to bad I suppose. But most of it comes from the forums I post in. And it would be nice not to get hissy fit email from my other forum members.

I think I'll update the page later on today, I'm in the middle of lunch now and painting my house.

Ya i think thats bull****... Ive seen quite a few posts where Unforgiven keeps getting bashed... Yes, sometimes he does make odd comments about rice rice baby stuff but thats his own opinion... At least hes trying to help us out by putting the templates on his site and writing up a technical article, just for us.. He doesnt need the article, he already made his guages.. The article prolly took quite awhile to make, just for us.. Also, all the portraits hes been drawing for us on his own time... Unforgiven I would mail those ****** back n tell em to *** off...

Any *good* pictures you have of the 82-85 Trans Am gages. I'll be experimenting with my 85, but i dont have any pictures on my computer that i can use, and alas my digital camera is dead.

Anything that you can clearly see what starts and stops where will work. Make sure it's 82-85... That's with the gas gage on the top far right.

Thanks

Hey Mike...
Donīt listen to those fools who canīt use their brain...
I canīt understand why people getīs angry over something they get for free.. if they dont have the knowledge to work with programs such as Photoshop they should leave it be.

Those e-mails u got just ignore them..they are not worth the time to answer..

Just my two cents
