Re-apholstering with leather

Hey guys, someone on the board had their seats re-apholstered with black leather and had IROC-Z embroidered in red on the seats. Does anyone remember this? I am interested in where they had this done and how much it cost. If I remember correctly it was a place in Canada that did it. Any pics/info would be greatly appreciated.

I got the seats reapolstered at Goldstar in Hamilton Ontario and the embroidery was done at Ancaster Embroidery located in Ancaster Ontario. Just tell the guys at Goldstar you want to get something embroidered in the seat first and they will give you the piece of vinyl to take there (mine were actually done in a real high quality vinyl instead of leather) they were all done for about $700 front and back including embroidery. Thats CDN money too. If you wanted real leather it would be about $3000 or so I think.

Yep, those are the seats I was talking about. One more question...how does the new material wear?

Where I work, we do leather installs for area car dealers. We get pre-made kits from Katzkin (www.katzkin.com). At their website, they list cover sets for the '98-up cars......the rear seat is the same as our cars, I think...front seat is shaped a little differently...... you could pick up a set of beat-up 4thgen front seats, and then get the Katzkin covers. Katzkin can do logos as well; at my shop we have a book that shows the available styles.....maybe the website has them too.

If you're interested in buying a kit, call my boss:

I've watched the leather installers work on a few cars. It looks pretty straightforward, but you need a bit of patience to get the covers to fit just right, so there are no wrinkles or anything. The kits come with hog rings, but no hog ring pliers, and no instructions.
