3rd gen open drum to 95 posi disk and LS1 brakes?????

I have a 91 camaro with 3.42 open drum rear. I got a 95 rear posi disk with 3.23s.

Questions:
1. I got a LS1 master cylinder and a 91-92 1LE propvalve, will that combo work?

2. Will the LS1 brake setup bolt right up to the 95 rear?

3. What about the brake lines from the car to the rear and from that fitting to the calipers (axle lines)?

4. Can I put my 3.42s on the 95 posi carrier and loose the 3.23 gears?

5. Am i forgetting anything?

I wanna try and get this done in 1 day, so I wanna be ready for it.

hey

4. If both carriers and gear sets are 3-series (or both 2-series) you can do it.

5. you'll need at least: seals, shims, and a new crush sleeve (possibly bearings). Make sure you have the neccesary tools as well.

If its your first time start early to get it done, shimming the rear is a pain in the butt, and the first time you do it only makes it worse.

I might be interested in your old rear for its spring perches and shock mounts when you're done with it. I'm planning on putting a 12 bolt rear in my car and don't want to chop up my 94 disk rear to do it.

I'm getting tired of putting gears in this weak peice of crap (on my 3rd set)

Re: #rd gen open drum to 95 posi disk and LS1 brakes?????

My step dad will do the gear swap for me if I get everything needed. I just will take both rears to him, then when he is done, I'll have to install it on my car and hook up all the brake stuff.

I just want to get all my ducks in a row. I would like to get this done by may 13th at the latest.

ttypecamaro: If you want the old rear, your welcome to it. I'm sure you have something I need we can trade on or something.

sounds like a plan... I still have those 3" cat backs, minus one flowmaster muffler.

If I'm not mistaken the ls1 rear brakes will swap right onto the lt1 rear. I'm not 100% sure, but check out ls1tech.com and you should find your answer in a matter of a few minutes. good luck on your swap
