10 bolt drum to 10 Bolt disc Brake Swap

Ive been so confused ...Is this swap as easy as it sounds??if i find a camaro with a 10 bolt disc brake rear end, will it fit my 10 bolt drum rear end if i change all the parts out from the backing plate on out? Also i know have to get the proportioning valve but thats no biggie...Im just wondering if its possible to do what im thinking...To put 10 bolt disc brake parts from a camaro that i found at the junkyard to my 10 bolt drum brake rear end...All and any info will be greatly appreciated

yeah i know what youre saying but i got the rear end for free and it had drums...so i decided to convert it to disc because i located quite a few 10 bolts in the junkyard today..so instead of paying for the whole axle,im going to just pay for the disc brake components.

You'll have to modify the axel flanges on the drum rear end. Check the following link:

thanks for the info James...my question to you is that the link you sent me is for a ls1 disc swap...Im not getting the ls1 discs but rather regualr rear 10 bolt discs for my rear...would the same apply??To me it wouldnt seem like i would have to change anything out since its both a 10 bolt being swapped and in the same era vehicle...

I sent the link to demonstrate how the drum brake axel flange must be modified to accept disc brakes--doesn't matter if the brakes are third or fourth gen.
