Bendix pads - don't want to fit over rotor?!?!???

My IROC has the pretty standard front disc/rear drum setup - nothing special. I bought a set of the Bendix CT3 pads for up front last year, tried to fit them on last summer and they didn't seem to want to fit over the rotors. I made sure I pushed the pistons back in as far as they would go and the pads still seemed too thick. Anyway, I was sort of in a hurry back then and didn't spend a lot of time fiddling with things.

I'm going back to where the car is in storage soon to work on it (install a TA) and though I might fiddle with the pads again - Anybody got any ideas as to why these things won't fit over the rotors?? Part number, in case anyone cares, is D154CT; there is also a little number on the box that says EB-12-EL

I'm at a loss, unless I didn't actually have the pistons pushed in all the way, but I'm VERY sure I did. A year later, I own the pads anyway, doubt I can return them but they are brand spankin new.

Thanks, K

Hmmm...the number 154 means it should be the correct sized pad. I've got like MD154's or something on my fronts, they are the semi metallic Ti's. The only thing I would try is to measure the thickness of the pads and then go to a parts place with a ruler and ask to look at some pads and compare the measurements. If they look the same then there is something going on with the caliper. But with how cheap calipers are, I'd probably just place the fronts while doing the pads anyway.
