Z06 vs C5 vs Z28LS1

I'm getting a little confused here. Too much unverified info floating around.

The only difference between Z06 and C5 brakes is the caliper right?

What's the difference between C5 and and LS1 Camaros brakes, I thought the rotors were a different sizes.

Thx, Ben

C5 ZO6 is identical to the regular C5, except for the red powdercoating.

C6 standard brakes are similar to C5.

C6 Z51 has a larger diameter rotor than the C5/regular C6.

C6 ZO6 has even larger rotors, and 6-piston calipers.

C5 caliper is a little stiffer, and has smaller diameter pistons.

C5 rotor is directional, and about 3/4" larger in diameter.

'98-02 F-body rotor is nondirectional, and has a little different offset. Same thickness as the C5 rotor, though.

I was told the C5 Z06 caliper was cast differently or had more ribbing than the reg C5, that is incorrect?

Are C5 and C6 calipers interchangeable?

Thx btw...

The C5 ZO6 caliper is just a powdercoated C5 caliper, period.

Now, compared to the "LS1" caliper, the C5 caliper has larger ribs and is supposedly pressure cast, both of which serve to make it stiffer.

Yes.

One other note, the C5 and C6 front rotors are also interchangeable, as they have the same external dimensions. However, the C6 front rotor is approximately 2 lbs heavier. GM increased the cheek thickness (but not the overall thickness) for improved durability.
