rear brake calipers
I have a 1987 Firebird. I am converting from rear drum brakes to disk brakes. The rear axle and brakes are a 7.625 10-bolt from a 1985 Chev. IROC. I installed new rotors and pads. The calipers were locked up. I purchased remanfactured calipers. The problem I am having is I can't get the pistons to push back on the new calipers. HELP, any suggestions would be appreciated. I have a caliper piston pusher. It will not move the pistons. The brake lines are not attached.

On those old style rear calipers the pistons have to be turned to go back in, they don't just push back in. Note the holes in the outer edge of the pistons, this is how the rotation tool fits the pistons. You can rent one at Auto Zone or the like or just use a pair of needlenose pliers to turn them back in. Good luck!
