Bad Brake Hoses
Thought I would pass on some useful info.
My car has been pulling to the right slightly & the right wheel showed more brake dust, so I thought it was caliper time.
Tossed on a right caliper & started bleeding the brakes only to hear the fluid squeel as it came through the brake hose. The hose was internally collapsed & holding fluid pressure on the caliper. The caliper was fine.
Tossed on a new hose & thought it would be fine. Now it pulls really hard to the right....... The left hose is collapsed as well & now the right side gets more pressure (due to the new parts) causing it to pull.
Obviously, you should change them in pairs, but due to time constraints (& customer cars filling the garage) , I did 1 side at a time (outside between rain storms) only to find out the good side was actually bad as well.
At least $10 rebuilt calipers (with hardware) & $16 hoses aren't that bad.
Hopefully this may help someone on their next brake job.
Sorry... had a brain lapse & posted it in the wrong forum....

same deal happened to mine a few months ago.. car pulled insanely hard to the left, and i was told that it was the brake hose swellinginside of itself.. or internally collapsing. fluid not getting back to the master
but now i jsut went wild and had Ed milller build me some brakes, when i could have jsut got some new brake hoses.. i;'m sure ill enjoy my new C4 brakes much better though
