wheel cylinder estimate

What is the average rate for bringing the car in to have the wheel cylinders replaced? One of mine decided to die on me today and i don't know if i wanna try and do it myself as I've read it can be quite difficult. Also im gonna need new springs and such to, plus break shoes, im nearly broke and need to have my car working soon.

If you do it yourself you can replace the drums shoes and all hardware for about $90...if a garage replaces the shoes and wheel cylinder it will cost about $175+........

Doing it yourself will run you less than $50.

I got it off pretty easily, but what is the u clamp all about? I was trying to loosen the bolt that was running through it on the back of the backing plate and the clip just popped off.I noticed the right rear wheel doesnt have the u clamp type deal. Anyhow i had to cut the brake line coz it wouldnt come loose on the wheel culinder, no biggy

anyone? Also, i need to replace the hard line from the drum to the T, what ive read is confusing as far as the fitting having to be metric or standard. The line i pulled off looks like it has a double flare rather than the bubble flare, when i called the part store they asked me if the wheel cylinder was metric or standard, i thought all 85's were metric? Perhaps i have a standard one originally? Anyhow i think i bought the wrong one, i bought the metric one and bought the import bubble flare brake line but the line doesnt look like its right compared to the old.

The old line looks like the one on the left in this pic so i dunno wtf i have
