My rear disk brake pads hang off the rotor a little, is this bad?
I'm swaping a disk brake rear end out of an 84 Z28. I had the rotors turned and I bought "new" calipers and ceramic brake pads. When I put them on the rear end yesterday, the pads on both sides of the rotor hang off the edge of the rotor less than 1mm. I didn't pay attention to the old pads when I took them off to see if it was like that before. Is it supposed to be or ok to be like that? If not, how should I go about fixing this? I need to know ASAP because I'm planning on putting the rear in the car tomarrow. Thanks.

Not as bad as putting a Gov-Lock INTO your rear end.
Most of us throw those things in the trash, unless we can find a REALLY GULLIBLE S-truck owner that already smoked his and wants an "original equipment quality" replacement.
The pads are fine. There's nothing you could do about it in any case, they just kind of go where they go.

Thanks for the help with the pads.
About the gov-loc, it's all I got. I have a V6 with what I assume is an open rear end. This rear end will be fine until I can get enough money to get a real posi-trac carrier for it. I wanted the rear for the brakes, that's why all the money I've spent on it (way to much), apart from the paint and fluid, was for the brakes.
