C5 Rear Axle Brake Upgrade.
Working on a theory at this time of using C5 Rear brake rotor, over LS1 backing plate. My question is, Why could you not use the larger 12.75 rear rotor over the LS1 parking assembly. And add the front 2 piston C5 front caliper, with modifications..
im not sure if it will work or not, but i think the rotors are thicker for the c5 and could cause wheel fitting problems depending if its lowered....so on, i think it would be a waste of money and work because there is a thing called "to much rear brake" the rear ends of our cars are way lighter then the front and having a set up like that on the rear is a good way to have the rears lock up first and thats not good. the front brakes are what do most of the stopping anyway. the look of the c5 in the rear would be cool, i have the c5 zo6 stuff up front and like it.

I did figure on the braking distribution of this idea. But since you brought it up, just use the C5 rear caliper as well. Can any one tell me the inside dimensions of the C5 rotor, offset, the same for the LS1 rear.. Another point it would be alot easier to remember what parts you have..
Thanks

The rotors are the same thickness but the C5 rotors are offset differently, they won't line up right in the carrier/backing plate assembly. Just use LS1 rotors and go forward, you won't see a difference.
