murky brown brake fluid in resorvoir

i switched to the LS1 brakes about 6 months ago. I just blead to fluid that was already there, but it certainly didnt look like it does now. Its all murky and light brown. Is this from water? I cant find any leaks in the lines. The only reason checked

Brake fluid can change color fairly quickly. I have seen it do this months or years. I'd just remove the fluid from the resorvoir and flush the system again if you are worried about it.

The quality of the fluid you used may have something to do with this and some remaining old fluid mixing in as well. I use and strongly recommend Castrol LMA barake fluid for daily driver street cars.

yeah it probably wasnt quality fluid (off the shelf store brand from autozone probably). Never thought about castrol before. Well ok.....thanks for the input. Still brakes fine but i know this fluid needs to be changed soon.

also the new fluid could be desolving the varnish left behind by the old crapy fuid, i had to flush my breakes 4 times, once a month, to finally get clean fluid. and was using good senthetic fluid, in the prossess of doing the same with my power stering now.

Hey Scribbles, I think im in the same boat as you right now. I used valvoline synthetic fluid after doing my 4-wheel LS1 swap last winter. I had to refill the master cylinder a little while ago because I had a crush washer start leaking. The master was full of NASTY fluid. So I ended up removing the calipers & relacing all of the fluid in the system. I hope I dont have to keep doing that like you did. Its a bit of a PITA.
