newb question

whats all of this about using a C-clamp when you pull the calipers off your discs? or is that just for if youre leaving the lines intact and theres pressure in the system?

I took the brake line off and just pulled the caliper off and it looks fine.

I need to pull the outer bracket and pads off so i can clean them for paint, is there anything else i need to do first?

Re: newb question

we use the c-clip to compress the caliper piston so the new pads will fit, since they will be thicker

Re: newb question

Don't forget to pop clip off master cylinder cap before jacking the piston back in though.
