1997 LT1 Brakes

I am gong into town this week to get my bearings pressed on my axles of my Moser 9 inch.I purchase a set of LT1 brakes and am just trying to confirm on the set up. Do the calipers attach to the back side of the rear end. I seen a picture of a set off a 2001 and they were both on the front side of the axles. Could someone confirm which side of the axles the LT1 go on. Thank you

The LT1s, like all PBR setups from 89-97, are on the rear.

Re: 1997 LT1 Brakes

I'm using the exact setup- 9" Moser with '97 LT1 PBR's. Just a caution that if you're planning to use LCA relocation brackets, they interfere with the caliper. I had to remove the giant counterweight AND grind on the LCARB to get mine to fit.

Firebird 383, Thanks for the heads up. I have read of people using the relocation brackets , but what is their benefits. Are they usually only used on lowered vehicles. Thnaks for the picture . What version of break cables did you use , first or second version. Did you get to use original mounting locations or did you have to make a braket. Thanks for any info.

Re: 1997 LT1 Brakes

The LCARBS are supposed to eliminate wheel-hop and correct the geometry on lowered cars.

I used Raybestos PN# BC94264 parking brake cables. They were about $15 each at Rock Auto. I used the original mounting locations.
