brake upgrade question

ok so what is your guys opinion of what the best option to go on when you upgrade your rotors from stock flat surface rotors. cross drilled or slotted. I heard one is actually worse then the other but i cant remember which one? My friends dad just got an 08 corvette and it has cross drilled. Corvette has to live up to their name so they must be good!

Re: brake upgrade question

It depends either or is better than a stock rotor, but you get what you pay for it you buy cheap drilled or slotted rotors they will crack in fairly short order. That being said slotted rotors wear pads faster because the slot acts like a knife blade scraping along the pad when the brakes are engauged. I have a set of SSBC slotted rotors and matching pads on the front of my IROC and they don't make too much noise, and perform well so I would probably buy another set in the future when these wear out.
