83 Trans Am rear disc brake setup
I have a 83 TA with rear disc setup. the problem is that whe i bought the car the guy i bought it from cut the brake lines for whatever reason. my question is that on the driver's side rear brake, does the brake line go from hard metal line to rubber before the caliper. mine has a metal line that is cut about two inches from where it would bolt into the caliper. i know this doesnt sound right but im explaining it the best i can so bare with me lol.
on the passenger side there is a braket the brake line runs into and comes out the other side as a rubber line instead of metal. is the driver side supposed to do this also? if anyone has a picture of their setup that would be very helpful also
thanks in advance

The rear line on the drivers side is metal all the way to the caliper, that is factory. It would be better to install a flex line though. I would do this as you have to create a new section of line.
By the way, he may have cut the line because the rear calipers on the car suck. I just replaced mine with new ones, and the calipers still don't work right. I hate them...and am thinking of upgrading to PBR's. I just need to get the $ together.

Buy a new line(s). Check the following sites for what you need:

If you have a location near you that makes brake lines, I would just buy a flare tool and have someone make a section of steel braided line for your drivers side. I would also have a steel braided line made for the passenger side to match.
