Just wanted to thank all the ThirdGen board members, especially Ed Miller for figuring this out and inspiring my low buck brake upgrade.

 

I'm sure you'll enjoy them. I can't take credit for the C5 stuff, there's many others to thank before you get to me. I just took the ball and ran with it. I'm still running so to speak, in many different directions.

After that effort, had to shoot some paint on it. No calipers yet, but the rotor appears to be centered in the caliper bracket with about the same gap radially to the outer diameter.

 

So What all has to be done to Convert from Drum to Disc in rear? Just get the Plates, Backing plates, Rotor and Calipers, and put the screws where they go, and the Lines where they go? Sorry if i'm mistaken...

 

If you don't need an e-brake, C5 could be that simple. I cheated and ordered a 4th Gen spec Moser 12-bolt and swapped in the LT1 rear brakes from my donor car. The LS1 rear disc conversion requires a little cutting and drilling to the drum flange. Doesn't look too hard at all. Hand tools.

dose anyone make a C5 spindle/hubs to backspace Z06 rims properly without spacers?
currently I have 2.1/4" SPD adapters and im worried about strength with my C5 upgrade.

 

I've not seen that in my research. On the plus side you will need smaller spacers with normal converted thirdgen hubs.

 

just as i thought
ever heard of spacers braking or extra weel stud forces,etc.?
i dont want an inferior spacer to be the reason i wreck(or any thing for that matter)

 

Though none of them are DOT approved, I have never heard of one breaking. I'm running a spidertrax set on my Jeep along with a lot of other people. These see quite a bit of abuse and the failure has always been something else.
