Re: Adjustable Proportioning Valve

Humm, that looks like what I've always thought was the 82-83 valve, which is SAE. Interesting. Certainly doesn't resemble the one in my 85.

Re: Adjustable Proportioning Valve

I'm in the middle of that right now, on the 90 formula.
The biggest obstacle I had to overcome, is that the original
lines/fittings are all "bubble" flare, but the only fittings I can
find available are "inverted" flare. Reader's Digest version is
that I get some short bubble flare lines, and convert one end
to standard inverted flare. (Parts houses that loan/rent tools
will usually have the inverted flaring tool.) I'm removing the
prop valve entirely, using a tee fitting for the front, and adj.
unit (from SSBC) for the rear. I'm pretty **** about stuff like
this, so I'm also fabbing a new mount for both units. Will post
some pictures, & more details when I'm finished. If you have
some more detailed questions, I'll help out as best I can.

Re: Adjustable Proportioning Valve

I did the adjustable valve and let me tell you its probably one of the best mods for these cars to be able to dial in the brakes to your driving preferences. its a royal pain in the butt to do the flairing and such but its well worth the gains in the end. I didnt even bother looking for a stock disk/disk prop valve. Here is the article i used as a reference for doing the swap. I followed it to the T and everything turned out great. I didnt use a willwood though...SSBC prop valve.
