rim clearance not an issue

i am doing an LT1 swap at present and i wanted to know what brake setup would work on a 92 camaro z28. i have 22 inch black miami forte rims so clearance is not an issue. my local junkyard has tons of cars i can pull from but i have no idea what would work. also from this donor car besides spindles and the calipers, of course i would need new rotors what else would i need. i have rear disc brakes on it now but its not the 1Le package but i do have to porpotion valve for rear disc brakes. what year, make and model vehicles would work. minor modifications arent a problem. for example will 4th gen camaros, transams with all the stock hardware from the donor car work. they have corvettes. would any truck applications work...any help would be appreciated.....thanks

Regardless of what larger brake system you use, you'll have to modify your OE spindles.

nothing you find the junk yard will bolt right to your car. the common swaps are brakes from ls1 4th gen cars and c4-c6 vettes. In both applications, all you can use are the calipers and rotors, you have to modify you existing spindle and make brackets to mount the new calipers.

The mods are not something the average person can do in the garage, you need to have parts machined professionally.

The other option is to buy a kit, like mentioned above flynbye in a member here, ebmiller, and he makes nice kits.

Re: rim clearance not an issue

Is the Front Brake from an Ls1 Car specific, or are all front 4th gen brakes the same size? If so, im going to hit up the yard and snag some 4th gen brakes...
