$100 Brake Pads ?!?

$100 Brake Pads ?!?
I need to replace the front pads on my '86 IROC Z-28. I have been to two part stores (advance auto and a local place with a pretty knowledgeable staff). Both places have asked whether or not I have the performance braking package. If I do I need to pay $100 plus for a set of pads, if not they are less than $50. What are they talking about and how do I tell if I have this performance package?

Haha I doubt you really need them, might be one of those things that come up as recommended on their computers for an equal replacement.
I haven't had local Autozone/Oreillys tell me that when I upgraded my rotors/pads. I still went with the expensive slotted/drilled rotors and a good set of brake pads though, Love em.

Re: $100 Brake Pads ?!?
99% or 3rd gens dont have the high performance brakes, those are 2 piston aluminum caliper installed on the 1le and 92 b4c cars. You dont have those, so you want the cheaper of the two style pads
