Yes, Another E-brake question
OK, my 87's e-brake doesn't work. If I try to pull up the handle I'm lucky to get 2 clicks. Then it is stiff as heck and with all my might I might get one more click in, but it is no where near enough to engage the brake.
I did the put 175lbs of force on the brake pedal and adjust the lever and was able to get it to 7 clicks, but still not enough to engage the e-brake.
After a few attempts the lever is back to 2-3 clicks and done.
This is a disk rear. Any hints, tips?

is the cable seized? i would disconnect the cable and see if it moves freely. does this have ebrakes built in to the calipers? could be a problem in the calipers

I agree with skirkland. Disconect the cable at the calipers first. If it is still hard to move then disconect them in the trans tunnel. This will help you isolate what section is actually bad. If your under the car, can you see any part of the cable that has been smashed or burnt by the exhaust?

Re: Yes, Another E-brake question
OK, well I've narrowed it down to the pass side being the culprit making the e-brke handle not go up. With just the drivers side connected I have to crank the handle ALL the way up even with the adjuster screw set.
I might just rebuild the rear calipers and re run the bake cables.
