well I'm in the process of rebuilding my rearend and got everything back together. But I forgot to mark the backing plates. So I thought I had them in the right place but when I tried putting the calipers on they hit the lcarbs. Some cutting would fix this but I dont want to go the point unless I have to.
So if someone can tell me if they've had to do this. or maybe give me apicture of the stock location of the backing plates for a 91 disk rear end.

Sounds like you just need to pull the backing plate off, rotate it 90 degrees & put. it back on. The caliper mounts up above the axle tube, not below it.
