brake fluid

brake fluid

can bad brake fluid make my brakes not hold. or should i say just make my brakes weak.

Molasses In The Brake Lines

Contaminated fluid can cause a delay, but not a total failure to hold.

Your problem is most likely a bad booster.

When's the last time the rubber lines were replaced at each wheel?

It's amazing how much of a difference new rubber lines can make - they stretch with age, and thus the fluid pressure expands the rubber lines instead of all the pressure going to the caliper. If you haven't ever replaced them, I highly recommend it - it's a PITA since you have to bleed the system, but it's a cheap fix.

i have been trying to talk my self out of changing the booster because i have been saying that it is that since day one. well i guess it is time to change it.

i don't have rubber lines. i changed them to the SS braided ones. thanks for the info.
