Could use help getting LS1/C5 brake project back on the road

I have sourced most of these parts years ago, finally got the calipers and now I have a pile of parts and a question

I'd greatly appreciate it those of you that know could chime in

I bought LS1 calipers + carriers off ebay , but I thought I had c5 brake brackets, how come things are lining up for me?

Did I buy "LS1" brackets years ago and not C5?

note: I am unsure whether I decided (years ago) to build LS1 brakes or C5 brakes, I Realize they are almost the same but I thought calipers were different, the rotor size is slightly larget with C5 and therefore caliper brackets differ.

I've searched a bit, but is there a definitive step by step write up somewhere? I know I have to cut the ears off, drill/tap holes but having details would be very helpful.

I think that the only diff is in the casting process for the calipers one is gravity cast, one is pressure cast, but I might be wrong.check out ed millers http://www.flynbye.com great source for 3rd gen brake upgrades

Re: Could use help getting LS1/C5 brake project back on the road

any idea of that bracket is a C5 bracket? just to confirm what I have.

I think I have brand new C5 rotors too so I'll double check that part number and I guess if the caliper carriers are the same then I'm good to go.

I believe you're right about the calipers, the C5 ones have ribs along entire top surface , the LS1 only in the back.
