Or are they bigger/better?

Just wondering if it is worth the effort to put them on?

 

Tons of info here about swapping LT1 and LS1, vette, and other front brake systems. Just do a search.

Also, there's the stickies at the top of the brake section - did you read those?

 

Gee, thanks. I did search. I couldn't find anything that told me whether or not the brakes were much, if any, different.

 

I'm no brake expert, but I think the short answer is ... it's a PITA to change front brakes. Nothing I ever read about front brake swaps made me want to jump in and do it - everything I've seen involves dfifferent struts, or knuckle modifications, etc. - and none of it is cheap!

You never mentioned 1995 what ... I assume you mean 4th gen F-body - not worth the trouble in my book, especially with a pre 1998 car - maybe 1998+ cars have better front brakes with the LS1's. 4th gen F-body front suspension is rack & pinion, ours are not - different struts, knuckles, etc. But again, the stickies above explain alot, and if search isn't doing it for you, just browse the threads in the brake section - I swear there's hundred upon hundreds of different brake swap posts in here covering everything from many different brake setups.

REAR brakes.

I have a 95 Firehawk rear axle & thought about putting it under my car, it's extra width would stick my rear tires out by almost 2". So I was looking into just swapping the 95 discs on to my 9-bolt.

But are they any better any 91/92 discs (car has drums now so I know it would be an improvement) but are they any better than the stock 91/92 discs?

I've looked up the part #s & they are different #s, but that doesn't tell me anything.

Most everything I was reading was about fronts, not rears.

I just don't wanna do all this, only to find out I basically did the same as what it would have been stock on a 91 disc brake rear.
