Front Brakes Locking Up
Front Brakes Locking Up
So I bought a 1990 rs last weekend and the guy i bought it from said that he put new brakes on the front before he parked it to sell. It sat for 2 years after he put them on. I drove it home about 30 miles and it was fine. The first time i drove it after that though i hit the brakes (not hard) and the front passenger side locked up. I called the guy and he said that it probably wasnt greased enough and he came up and greased the calipers with a spray white lithium grease. They unlocked and i got it home fine and then the next day i drove it and the same thing again. Any ideas on what is causing this? Could it be bad calipers or lines? I dont know much about brake work so any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

a common problem with older vechicles . the brake flex/rubber lines fail internally . they then act like a check valve . replace both , & bleed you should be fine . the lines are keyed lt. & rt. to the mounting brackets . make sure you install the correct one on the proper side . good luck .

i doubt the calipers are bad . the hoses are the problem 99% of the time . good luck .
