Brake Problem after rear swap

I have a 92 Z and it came with a limited slip drum rear. I converted to a limited slip disk rear out of a 88 iroc. Well I also swapped over the porportioning valve.

Problem
The rears arent working at all. When I bleed them fluid comes out but not really alot. I have replaced all the lines and calipers. They did the same thing with the stock porportioning valve aswell. Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: Brake Problem after rear swap

did you replace the flex hoses, even the one from the chassis to the flex line before the axle?

does the "new" rear have the crappy iron calipers or the aluminum pbr ones?

No. I just swapped the porp valve and the lines from the t spillter to each caliper. Iron calipers.

its possible that you have collapsing flex lines, but more likely its because the factory iron calipers rarely work at all, they are terrible. There are a few threads about a different spring to swap into the prop to allow more pressure to the rear calipers, should still be on the top page in "Brakes" or one back. That may help, check it out.

The following thread is interesting enough in itself, but also contains a link to the 'recall' fix for the Delco-Moraine calipers.
