Interior emergency brake assembly for 92 Camaro with manual trans
I inherited my son's 92 Camaro last year when he was killed, at which time he had started to repair the interior emergency brake assembly because a small torsion type spring which fits somewhere with the interior metal handle that's attached or part of the metal gears which actually sets the brake. I'd appreciate any help and info about the actual name of this small spring so I can try to find one, and also any diagram of how/where it actually is supposed to go & what it's supposed to attach to....Don't remember for sure if it's a 5.0 or 5.7, and is a 5 speed manual transmission.

Sorry for your loss. Unless an engine swap has been done, it is a 5.0. the only transmission used for 5.7s was the 700r4(automatic).

Re: Interior emergency brake assembly for 92 Camaro with manual trans
Is there some indication somewhere on the engine that might indicate which one it actually is? I do know that it is not the original, and whatever he put in it has a group of small possibly vacuum type hoses connected into a cylindrical piece which crosses over the oil dipstick making it very difficult to find if you don't know it's there....Thanks for your help

Re: Interior emergency brake assembly for 92 Camaro with manual trans
found a picture in the brake forum here & I circled what I believe to be the spring I'm trying to identify, and I believe in another post in this group it may have been referred to as a pin or wire...I've been reading so much in here for the last 2 days, the details have fuzzed over in my head, but if anyone can offer any help & needs for me to identify which posts I got this info from let me know, I'll be glad to.
