Puck looking thing on disc brakes?????

Engine: LS1, LSXRT &102mm TB, Cam,225 Heads
Transmission: T56
Axle/Gears: 9" 4.10 w/31 spline axles
Puck looking thing on disc brakes?????
Ok so im swapping out rear ends one Camaro to another. I get my wheels on the disc brake rear and wheels are to wide for the puck looking thing coming off the e brake bracket. What is it, what does it do, and can I remove it with no worries? Looks like it should come off easy. And I think its rubber maybe.

It was only installed on later design pbrs , I tossed mine and haven't noticed any issues.
