C4 HD

Anyone have any idea how this kit worked out? I've called Ed a few times with no response. From what I gather, the 1LE caliper and C4 HD caliper are identical. The only difference is the rotor, which didn't have hubs, and a different bracket. Am I wrong? I'd like to increase the rotor diameter here as well as separate the hub+rotor. I was thinking I would use Kore3 hubs. Basically I'm just wondering if I can just order the brackets from Ed, then put the rest together myself.

Thanks guys (I already searched).

Re: C4 HD

Yes, 1LE, and J55 C4 caliper are identical, same as grand sport caliper and the baer ones. The differences with the 1le are not just the rotor width, also the diameter is 12" instead of 13 and the abutment bracket is unique (curved for hat clearance)

If you order just the brackets, cut some 1LE rotors to hubs and be done with it. Don't see the need to spend all that money on those Kore3 hubs if you are not doing a high dollar brake setup.

Re: C4 HD

I'm doing this setup as well (c4hd). Kore3 doesn't offer a "off the shelf" 1LE hub, have to go custom. Their medium and heavy duty hubs have the larger 1LE bearings, but use the stock offset. I'm just going to cut up some 1LE rotors.

A question for those in the know- I need some good Earls or Russell brake lines for the front. Already have all the rear stuff. The lines I got for the front are only about 12" long....I think they are way short, plus don't have the retaining clip bracket in the middle. They actually are what I will use for rear lines.

Anyone have a part number or know what I need for "individual" front lines? Or anybody purchase a "set" and can get me the part number off their fronts?

Thanks.

Re: C4 HD

Try ordering the front 1LE lines from Ed; they seem plenty long enough.
Don't worry, he's pretty quick about shipping brake lines.
