so I'm looking to upgrade my brakes a little bit now a HUGE difference resulting in 1000's of dollars worth of parts lol. i just need the car back on the road. so i was looking into a decent set of ceramic pads and maybe a ds rotor. but i cant find anything anywhere. be sides summit which there rotors are made in china then drilled over here i assume. after researching i was thinking of going with brake motive. but i cant find anything that will fit my gta. because of some performance package ?
if you have the optional 12" brakes with multipiston calipers on the front- essentially Corvette brakes- then the only way to "upgrade" would be to swap to the later LS1 brakes, which have a thicker rotor and bigger pad... drilled and slotted rotors are just a marketing gimmick to get you to spend more money without any benefit on anything that isn't a dedicated ***** to the wall race car- and even a lot of those guys just use cheap parts store rotors because they are a throw away item.. just get the best ceramic pads and cheap rotors and look for other places to spend your money that will actually improve the performance of the car.

89-92: front performance package included dual piston alum calipers and larger rotors. In those years if you had a J65 car (four-wheel discs), the rear was equipped with single-piston alum calipers and larger rotors. For marketing purposes, I guess, these were often called 1LE or performance packages. 82-88 J65 cars have the Delco-Moraine iron calipers all around. No 1LE, no performance package.
