LS1 rear brake conversion

Well with income tax coming back I am doing the ls1 brake conversion in the front. I have disc in the back they are pbr. My question is do you have to take out the axle half shafts to do the conversion in the rear. Going to get the rear kit from Ed Miller and the fronts from Scott.

Re: LS1 rear brake conversion

I might just go with the wildwood if I gotta take the axles out for the ls1 kit. Wildwood said I would not have to take the half shafts out. Thanks for the info

Re: LS1 rear brake conversion

You need to remove the rear axle shafts (not half shafts) to remove the old backing plate. Therefore, it doesn't matter much if the new kit can be done without removing the axles.

Re: LS1 rear brake conversion

you already have decent rear brakes... keep them and spend your money elsewhere.

Yea, your rears are good if they are the pbr. No point swapping to the ls1 versions.
