83 Daytona Trans Am Brakes - Spongy
83 Daytona Trans Am Brakes - Spongy
My brakes are spongy and previous owner said his mechanic recommended replacing the front calipers.
Has anyone else expirenced similar issues that have fixed it?
Where would you suggest buying NOS style calipers?
I would like to keep them stock as I don't intend to modify this 43k mile example.
Thanks.
Ed

The front calipers on these early cars were the same ones GM used on just about everything. Head to autozone and grab a pair for about $15 each

"Spongy" usually means air in the system somewhere.
Try bleeding them before breaking the bank for the $25 or so to change them out.

Sounds good ... previous owner said a full flush was performed. I had one of these cars back in 83 and it was awesome. Technology has definitely moved on though.
