pbr rear caliper, where does the H shaped bit go?

I've swapped in a 9 bolt from an 89 into my firebird, i'm doing the pads and discs. The hardware kit has a H shaped bit of metal, but i can't figure out where is goes as the old pads didn't have it.
i've added some pics, i could really do with some help.
thank you.

You have it correct in your 3rd pic. The pad help push on the top of the clip to hold it in place. I will see if I can see the clip on my setup.
