I got the car early 2016 and since then the e brake has never worked, just now have I finally gotten around to it after what all happened and come to find out th reason why was because it was all gunked up and sticky on some of the levers and pins on the e brake. I took it apart cleaned it got it all back together tried to pull it but it wont budge any ideas it feels too stiff to move it wont engage that first tooth.
I don't have an answer for you so I'll bump the thread up.

Could moisture have gotten into the cable and corroded the inside? If so, very slim chance it will ever move again.
