Re: brake lines for quick performance?

Most likely the factory lines won't "fit", at least not directly; not least because the Frod 9" center section isn't centered the same way a GM rear would be. Which means one factory line will be too long (manageable) and one will be too short (my line stretcher is broken right now).

So yeah, you'll probably need to do SOMETHING. You probably don't "have to use their kit", but you'll have to do SOMETHING besides stock. Might even have to buy a stick of brake line at the parts store down at the corner and bend it up to fit.

Flex hoses would depend dramatically on the calipers you use.

Most likely not. Just buy their kit if you're already spending a bunch of money on new stuff. That said I used a set of 4th gen brake lines on my Midwest chassis 9". I just needed to bend the lines a little differently

Re: brake lines for quick performance?

I just made new lines for my 9in. It was easy and less expensive than buying pre bent lines and modding them. It came out looking as good if not better than stock.

Re: brake lines for quick performance?

DO NOT buy the flex line kit
Use hard line down the length of the axle.

The long length of flex line will give you a spongy pedal. Always try to keep your flex lines to a minimum.
