Yes its been done and there are a million recipes out there from folks using all kinds of cables. Hawks also sells a kit but I did not have luck with it. Spend some time using the search function as you'll see there is a lot to read.

I'm using the Hawks swap cables in my 91 Z with 2000 Camaro rears and while they do fit great and go in all the right places without issue they do not have that little spring on the caliper side of the cable to take the extra bit of slack out. I've heard of guys using these springs I got them on Amazon for like $10. So one of these days I'll put them on. It's not really high on my priority list

Thanks' .. I will check it out. So the extra slack in the line is not a big concern.
.
56–57 inches for the gen 4 and the 43.4 inches of the original gen 3 Fire-bird cables) -- Do I have to cut these or is that spring you showed how I sure it up? Where does the spring go if so?

Than you in advance

The spring goes on the loop end of the cable that attaches to the caliper itself
